Ms. Chanedia Dixon
Biography
Born on June 8th 1974, to Marvell & Claudia Dixon, Chanedia was the only child born into this unity.Chanedia was raised by both her parents. They attended Cleveland Ave Missionary Baptist Church (Pastor Price Ellis & Asst. Harrison Jackson) where she was a member of the choir & C.L.O.T. (Cleveland Leaders Of Tomorrow), That begin her Christian walk.
Chanedia begin to raise a family of her own, she has 6 beautiful children 3 boys & 3 girls, C'eria, Travale, Kyle, Asia, Jazmyne, Jay'den and one grandson Kendyl Rae'. The age of 29 Chanedia thought her world had ended when her father passed away and a few years later her mother begin to get ill and that begin another chapter in Chanedia's life. Later Chanedia joined St. John MBC (Pastor Thomas F. McCormick) and that’s where she begin her mission and began to have a passion for writing plays and ministering to people thru drama, After the loss of her father Chanedia wrote her first play in 2004 titled "He was there all the time" that play was performed in 2009, After that she wrote several Plays titled "A Praying Grandma”, “Am I my Brother's Keeper", "A Troubled Teen", and the most recent Stage Play (Dinner Play) "God Don't Bless No Mess", Misery Loves Company".
Chanedia now attends Christian Tabernacle COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Keith Newton.
Chanedia said she thought she had a huge stumbling block in her way when her dad passed away, but she said boy was she wrong, because her mom passed away December 25, 2011. Chanedia said her mom was so excited about this play....her mom would say oh my Lord I hear yall down there singing and she couldn't wait to see
"MISERY LOVES COMPANY", so this Stage Play is dedicated to my mom "Mrs. Claudia M. Dixon" one of the loves of my life.
Chanedia said she was ready to give up on writing plays but her Pastor, friends and family kept pushing her into her dream because that's what her mom wanted and also because she said it was so exciting for people to come up to her and tell her that she touched their life & that she was telling their stories, and she thought wow how exciting is that, God gives you a word and it touches a person who you would least expect.
We also asked Chanedia how do you come up with your plays? Chanedia's response was....I go into my prayer closet and ask God to give me the words to write, an give me direction, an give me a vision of what he wanted me to minister about to his people.
